Business Owner Input Needed:
Roanoke, VA (January 22, 2018) – The Roanoke Valley Broadband Authority (RVBA) seeks input from business owners located in Roanoke County, Roanoke City, and the City of Salem on the current state of their local internet and data transport support services and utilization needs. The RVBA seeks to understand what business service categories are being appropriately addressed by available products and vendors as well as what challenges remain.

All surveys must be completed by February 16, 2018. Results will be analyzed by a third-party vendor, and findings will be made public later this spring.
“Just under two years ago, we launched the RVBA’s internet and data transport network based in large part on the input, requests, and heavy involvement of the local business community. As we grow, we want to ensure our projects and priorities continue to be informed by the same folks,“ Frank Smith, President and CEO of the Roanoke Valley Broadband Authority said. “This is an opportunity for business leaders to tell us which telecommunications needs are, and are not, being met so that we can continue to work to ensure the Roanoke Valley has the telecommunications resources necessary to thrive.”
The RVBA’s new 80-mile, 100% fiber, open-access network serves businesses, government and education customers all across the Roanoke Valley. The RVBA provides high-speed, high-capacity, open access fiber optic telecommunication services including internet, data-transport, and dark fiber solutions. With the recent extension into Roanoke County, the RVBA network now runs along a variety of high traffic regional corridors and past more than 650 local commercial properties.
